September 25th, 2016 marked the first event for The Woodlands BBQ Festival at Town Green park in The Woodlands, Texas. The well sponsored event benefited the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and marked a great first showing for the hosts. While there were a few area restaurants who did not choose to participate, the line-up provided plenty of high quality barbecue and attendees were treated to a good time with reasonable lines. The weather forecast was of concern but the rain held off until nearly 4 PM which allowed plenty of barbecue to be consumed.
The grassy park, shaded seating, and low priced drinks added to the day’s enjoyment. SWAG included coupons for free packs of Southside Market sausage, free banana pudding at True Texas BBQ, bottles of barbecue sauce from Goode Co., plus koozies and stickers from multiple booths. Live music was provided by Jesse Raub Jr. and Clayton Gardner.
It was a solid first showing for the festival, and the hosts are already looking forward to next year’s event, as am I.
